Bluestone Sunshields was founded in California, USA, in 2017 by dermatologist Jen Podany. She saw a clear need for both privacy and sun protection for her patients, especially those recovering from treatments that increased their sensitivity to sunlight.
Her innovation has won numerous awards, most recently the 2023 Well+Good SPF Innovations Award and The 2023 Beauty Innovations Beauty Tool of the Year Award. Shape Magazine calls it “The New Sunblock”.

Derma Essentials Sweden is the distributor of Bluestone Sunshields and DermaQuest in Sweden. The company was founded in 2016 by skin therapists Terese Paulsson and Sofia Ekman.
